        A THOUSAND YEARS BUT YESTERDAY
                             (Psalm 90)

Long ago, before there was time
            generational breath had reason.
God-authored life as in a poem
and placed it for a season.

            A thousand years but yesterday...
            God's vision consumed the night.
The dwelling place for growing up
             was flourished by morning light!

             Sincerest prayer...a heart of wisdom.
"Lord teach us to number our days!"
Establish our work in gladness of heart
and give glory to God in praise!

When our days are spent, we exhale a sigh
of relief from labor and sorrows.
At death we defy...only to fly
to God who holds all our tomorrows!

As for man, his days are as grass:
as a flower of the field, so he flourisheth.
For the wind passeth over it, and it is gone;
and the place thereof shall know it no more.
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to
everlasting upon them that fear Him, and His
righteousness unto children's children..."
                      Psalms 103:15-17
                    FLORAL ARRAY

God's floral array gently sway to melodic rhythms
Bowing down, bursting forth colors in prisms.
Springing to life, if for only one day,
Bringing splendor and fragrance at His will..to obey!

Pensive rhapsody...majestic Son's vision,
God's brushstrokes of whispers in the valley of decision.
A summer's display, portraying man's day
Predestined life as a gift...only to fly away!

Life but withers as flourishing grass fades,
Breath given to honor the Master...to serenade!
The life in this season has surely begun...
Flourished and nutured by God's only Son!

The Master's touch...our framework as given,
Explicitly fragile...but promised provision!
The Lord displays beauty...loving pierced hands and feet,
As the cross answers, our journey...made complete!

                        READING ROOM
There's reading room beside me.
Pull closer with your chair.
Recline your ear for wisdom...
God imparts with loving care.

Close the door behind you.
Quiet time is best.
Recline your ear to wisdom
and God will give you rest!

New journeys you'll discover...
examples we've been told
of prophets, faithful servants,
many lives between the fold.

The illuminating Spirit
Teacher...the Divine
Lord of our salvation,
God's love is on the line!

God's word becomes soft-spoken.
His gentle voice within...
brings comfort and direction,
new life with God... begin!
